In Focus- Photojournalism
Experience the fascinating world of photojournalism in this hands-on class. You will learn camera operation, basic composition, and look at careers in photography. An overview of multimedia and video photojournalism will also be discussed. Bring a digital camera (a DSLR is recommended but any digital camera will work). You will have several photo assignments to complete, as you learn professional tips for taking pictures of people, sports, pets, nature, and news. A class slide show will be presented on the last day.
Instructor, Robin Loznak, is the former chief photographer at The News-Review. His work is regularly published in magazines, newspapers, and websites world-wide.

Engineering is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. We The Jury
This class is a great opportunity to learn more about the judicial system and develop analytical thinking. Students will serve as jurors for a mock trial. There will be mock attorneys, witnesses, a defendant and judge. Instructor Becky Jones will guide students through the trial as she helps them develop skills in creative thinking, teamwork, self-expression, and problem-solving.

Geoscience Rocks!
Geoscientists explore the Earth in quest of solutions to some of society's most challenging problems: finding and conserving natural resources, maintaining healthy ecosystems, and understanding global climate patterns. By applying their knowledge of forces and factors that shape the Earth, geoscientists seek to reconstruct the past and anticipate the future. It's a diverse and exciting field. Geologist, John Orcutt, will introduce you to the Earth as an outdoor laboratory. You will have an opportunity to observe Earth processes in action as you learn more about what it means to be a Geoscientist.
